Equipment/Product Review (1974) PINO MORRONI components
The article is mostly about Pino Morroni innovations, but also has brief descriptions of Cinelli M-71 pedal/cleat, CLB "Self Energizing" brake blocks, and ADS Minimal Friction brake blocks at the end.

Fascinating article. Pino was truly an innovator, among the American machinists of the 70s, Hi-E, Phil Wood, etc...

I was wondering about that, but I looked ahead through the next 3 issues and didn't find the magazine admitting an April Fools joke or a reader asking about it.
I thought I was being Sidd Finch -ed, but couldn't prove it.
Even Classic Rendevous didn't mention it as a prank in their "Rarest of the Rare" section.
Or is the idea of increased braking distance (in concept and/or by this method) so absurd and contrary to dogma of the day or mechanical engineering principles that it's obviously a hoax?
